I didn't want to hijack Tree's awesome blog, but I thought we could share some yummy recipes here!

NO BAKE S'MORE CAKE
warning: this cake is very easy and possibly one of the best things you will ever put into your mouth. before you know it people will be demanding you make it left and right and you will soon be the cake making servant. (send help)

   You need:
2 tubs marshmallow creme
1 tub cool whip
1 box graham crackers
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 pkg chocolate chips
1 tsp salt
a pan of some kind. I use disposable 9x15 because... easy.

-use a mixer to blend together the creme and cool whip until smooth
-put a layer of graham cracker down
-put a layer of creme mixture, spread it flat with a spatula
-put more graham crackers and repeat until you're out of creme stuff
-melt chocolate and 1 cup whipping cream on low on the stove until smooth
-take pot off burner and add salt, let sit for 5 mins
-pour chocolate over the layers
-stick in the freezer for 30 mins then put it in the fridge and serve after a few hours
-will vanish fastly

1 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi or milk your choice)
1/2 cup peanut butter chips

-preheat oven to 375
-cream butter, sugars, and peanut butter together

-add in the oats and chips
-drop onto cookie sheets and bake for about 8 mins

--------------------
And I watered it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

i love this !

~

here's my contribution from this morning;

salted caramel bread pudding (recipe 1)

(with {some} pictures !)

you will need;
  • 1 large oven safe dish, ~2 1/2 - 3 inches deep
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 saucepot
  • 1 whisk
combined list of ingredients:
  • ~9 old fashioned / cake doughnuts (works best imo if your doughnuts are ~1-2 days old, i cut them when they were fresh and let them sit to create a better crust)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white / granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter + a lil extra
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon mixed w cinnamon sugar (optional; i used it)
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional; i prefer my bread pudding without, so i didn't use them)
for the bread + custard;
  1. preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit (~176 for you Celsius folk)
  2. use extra butter to butter the dish, then break up donuts and arrange them in the dish
  3. if you're using raisins, now is the time to sprinkle 1/2 cup over the donuts
  4. melt 1/2 cup butter and drizzle over doughnut chunks

    set aside.

*it's important you don't over mix these next steps*

  5. break 4 eggs into mixing bowl, beat only so that they are broken up
  6. blend in
    -1 cup granulated sugar
    -1/4 cup brown sugar
    -2 cups half and half
    -2 cups whole milk
    -2 tsp vanilla extract
    -1 tsp nutmeg
    -1/4 tsp cinnamon
  7. mix in so that the ingredients are combined, not over-beaten
    user posted image
  8. pour mixture over the doughnuts
  9. pat the doughnuts down into the custard mixture, making sure everything soaks in

  10. pop that in the oven and let it bake for 40 minutes
  11. @ this point i like to cover it loosely with tinfoil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, checking occasionally, until it's golden brown all over and puffy.

while that's baking, feel free to start the sauce !
  1. in saucepot over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup brown sugar

  2. bring this lovely, sticky mess to a boil, then remove it from heat
  3. whisk in
    -1/2 cup evaporated milk
    -1 tsp vanilla extract
    -1/4 tsp salt
  4. at this point, there's another optional step to spill most of your evaporated milk all over your cutting board and counter top.

    i took it.
and congrats, you've now made bread pudding w doughnuts instead of real bread !
*insert confetti emoji here*

the finished products should look something similar to this;

drizzle the caramel sauce over and enjoy !

tonight's dinner:
put some lentils in a pot with some water
add a shredded up bratwurst or two
simmer without a lid for ten minutes before remembering you were supposed to put a lid on the lentils
put on lid. poke lentils. get bored and add a tablespoon or so of butter.
add salt too.
heck, add pepper.
go watch some project runway.
twenty minutes later, smell food !!!
go investigate
suddenly, lentils with sausage!!
eat and enjoy

alright, i got another goodie for you. good news is that this is amazingly easy. seriously. also always a crowd pleaser, i get compliments on it constantly despite that it literally is no work.

CHOCOLATE LOVER'S FAVORITE CAKE.
user posted image

You need:

1 pkg devil's food cake mix (WITHOUT pudding added!)
1 (3.9 oz) pkg instant chocolate pudding
2 cups sour cream
1 cup melted butter
5 eggs
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups mini chocolate chips (or use the whole package like me!)
1 container of some kind of chocolate frosting- homemade type. not whipped.
-powdered sugar if yer fancy

-oven at 350
-grease yer bundt pan
-mix together cake mix and puddin' together.
-make a well in the center and put in sour cream, butter, and extract. mix this all together first.
-then put yer eggs in. DON'T OVER PROCESS. just get everything mixed.
-take them choco chips and dust them in flour (so they stay a little more whole) toss em in the batter too. stir.
-put the batter in the pan, bake for 50-55 mins. it's cool if the toothpick isn't cleanish. there's so much chocolate in there that it's impossible to come out clean unless you've baked it into rock form.
-let it cool for 10 mins before trying to dump out of the pan. let it cool on a rack after that
-take all that icing and melt a ton in something. preferably this something is microwave safe or you will have a bad day.
-pour it over the cake. sprinkle some powdered sugar on top. BAM DONE. masterpiece.
-try to not eat entire thing in one sitting.
