WHAT IS BARBERMONGER?
BARBERMONGER is a site designed to help roleplayers find other roleplayers, specifically one-on-one roleplayers, as opposed to larger roleplay games. Functioning like a pinboard, BARBERMONGER allows users to create advertisements, bump advertisements, and respond to other advertisements, without requiring them to register an account. However, registering an account will allow you to edit your posts, find your own topics, and use the private messaging system.

No one ever tells you that anxiety can feel a lot like disappearing.
There's a lot of talk,
of missed steps and tipping chairs.
Of monsters that lurk inside mirrors,
and telephones that might as well have teeth.
Someone said to me,
"You'll know you have anxiety,
when your heart trembles in your chest
like the strings to a piano that never stops playing.
When your hands roll imaginary coins,
in the empty spaces between your fingers,
and your palms grow that layer of sweat
that you can never quite wash away,
and you wonder,
if you always had this much trouble breathing,
or if the ocean was always this loud in your ears-
a side effect of such a nervous, rapid heart."
"It feels like falling,"
not realizing what they meant;
that it's more like f a d i n g.
See, you'll know you have anxiety,
when your edges start to blur.
When invisibility is less a concept,
and more a second skin.
You'll know what I mean,
when it bites its teeth down on your tongue,
and silently swallows your words,
into the strangled confines of your throat.
When you are less piano string,
and more of a broken stand,
when you become background,
and then not even noise.
