THE PLOT
----------------------------------------

Exactly what it says on the tin.

Born on a cattle ranch to a Korean-American mother and Norwegian father, Conrad Larsen is man of straightforward principles with an uncomplicated and quiet temperament. He wields powerful self-discipline and a sense of grit that's unmatched within his community.

Like most young men from rural communities, he chose military service over higher education. Within his years of service Conrad accrued multiple deployments, none of which went without incident. He was eventually convinced to pursue University by a comrade and mentor. One semester into his final year of a pre-med degree he dropped out due to the loss of his parents.

In the wake of their death he inherited their property and made the decision to return to his home of Wyatt Lake, Colorado. In the past two years of getting the farm going again, Conrad has experienced a renewed interest in horsemanship. He grew up riding trails and working cattle, but has expanded his foundations after finding that the sport dampens the anxiety, flashbacks, and emotional numbing he carried home. The return to his roots has eased the wounds of service, but not healed them.

LOOKING FOR

City gal. New in town.

----------------------------------------
WHAT TO EXPECT
----------------------------------------

Wholesome feel-good moments
Rustic country charm
Less charming rednecks
John Denver references
Angst of the hurt/comfort variety
Creatures large and small (and sometimes ornery)
Letterkenny problems

Yeah, Conrad's pretty tore up, but honestly my intention is to write some peaceful easy feelings occasionally interspersed with the angst and barroom tussles.

COVENANT
----------------------------------------

Normally I work full time. Unfortunately one of my organs tried to beat a hasty retreat from my whole dang body so I'm on break for a while. As a result I'm pretty available with sporadic medical things in between. Not gonna lie, there might be days where I'm too exhausted to post; if you can be empathetic to that then I'm excited to write together.

The length of my posts depends on the pacing of the story and what's going on. I can promise multi-para but I won't promise full pages every time.

Let's have some OOC chatter. Maybe we can be friends. I enjoy sharing media that reminds me of our ocs, and as an extension of that, I do a lot of digital art. Expect doodles of our OCs.

I'm ditch-friendly. All I ask is that you don't frighten me with a cryptic message and then bail out because I'm a worry-wart.

Howdy!

My name is Vic, I'm a 20-something engineer in the middle of nowhere. I've been RPing for over a decade and still enjoy exploring story and character with folks -- and I'd like to meet more of you! My RP style is pretty unique and I prefer to burrito my partners up in rich worldbuilding filled with in-depth side characters while still training the focus on one relationship (usually romantic). It's like a bioware game but with far fewer clipping errors.

Typically I have a pretty substantial menu of these but presently I'm limiting myself to one for personal reasons. This world and character building is totally flexible, so if you have concerns about what's on tap or spark any ideas of your own while reading, let's put them to work!

Apologies for the length; communication is critical. Do feel free to send me any questions here or in one of my contacts below!

----------------------

• • • • • • I. LIMITATIONS

Kindly do not approach if you are under 18. I absolutely will not write with minors or write about minors in inappropriate situations.

My characters are usually not the most morally upright individuals and many are a little more than monstrous. Combined with my interest in the macabre and carnal, I must press that you consider what you are not comfortable with. I will respect your boundaries.

• • • • • • II. SCHEDULE

I work full-time in addition to other obligations. Understand that I have no intention of being negligent, but I can and do "disappear" at times. You're always welcome to leave me a message and I'll get to it as soon as I have the opportunity.

In general, my replies can be sparse. Posts will come to you weekly at worst. However, once I have a feel for the plot and partner, my replies are much more frequent and you may even get multiple posts a day.

Ghosting and bailing is totally understandable. I get it; commitments change, mental illness rails you at a bad time, we turn out not to be compatible, a more appealing plot comes along, etc. Don't ever worry about feeling like you need to make a commitment to me at the exploration stage and don't ever feel like you have to explain yourself, because it happens and it's normal. All I ask is that we leave it on a note that you tell me you're safe and okay; I've had partners disappear due to not-great circumstances and it was rough. Hopefully that's something that can be accommodated.

That said, I don't ghost often, when I do it's because I've forgotten or I'm in a bad way in terms of health. In the past few years I've been working hard at being transparent about these experiences, but sometimes I slip or feel embarrassed. I plead for your patience in matters like these.

• • • • • • III. PAIRINGS

Sexuality depends on the character. My OCs all have their own unique identities and I don't see fit to betray those just to make smutting more accessible.

Smut's a swell thing and I enjoy writing it on the stipulation that it's not all the RP is about. Good god, I love me a slow burn that leads up to things explosive and sensual. However, some of my greatest pairings were lost when they devolved into nothing but smut intersected by slice of life. Neither theme is necessarily bad, but I'd prefer they don't gunk up the works.

I can and will double upon request!

• • • • • • IV. LITERACY

Admittedly my writing is not as wholly consistent in quality as I'd like it to be. Sometimes I'm prosaic; sometimes I'm clipped and dry. I can say though that I am consistently a literate, paragraph+ writer. Cranking out 3-4 is my average but I've been known to break Skype on occasion.

All of my writing is done from the 3rd person and for some reason other perspectives squick me out, so I'd prefer to write with a partner comfortable using that perspective.

• • • • • • V. CONTACT

Being able to chitchat and enjoy a friendship with my RP partners is really great for my creative process. Headcanons, ideating, joking around, even inventing AUs gets me pumped to write. Without it, I periodically lose steam. So please, by all means, drop me a line and introduce yourself or show me a picture of your pets!

If you're not comfortable with that, that's okay too! I will still look forward to seeing your posts and posting for you.

Thank you for your time! Without further ado, my current plot on-tap;

QUOTE
In the mid 1980's the Soviets and their allies invaded North America and within months penetrated several states deep into the nation. At this tipping point, one of the countries involved in the year-long bloodshed unleashed a atmoic warhead. This event triggered a global response from every nuclear capable nation in the world. The two primary nations, the USA and the USSR were carpet bombed. Many small countries were blown entirely off the map. It's unknown who the instigator was, but it hardly matters.

Very little of humanity survived after most cities were eviscerated by nuclear warheads and the rest of the globe wracked with standard intercontinental missiles. Survivors of these disasters are those who sought underground (or in some cases extreme above ground-) shelter. Among those fleeing the blasts, a soldier from Western Ukraine slaughtered several civilians in order to lead his men into the safety of a rural fallout shelter. While in the 5-year stocked bunker, they held the resident civilians hostage and implemented a system not unlike that of their communist homeland; something the Americans found disagreeable on principle alone. His leadership was firm and honest, and heavily tainted by the massacre he committed on the way in. The residents, whose resentment for the man never wavered, called him, "The Bolshevik."

Most radiation dissipated within two to five years, but survivors emerged to a world unlike anything they left behind in 1986. Growth and decay had sprawled over their nation unhampered by man. The power grid was inoperable and the declension had been exponential. Radioactivity ceased to be the survivors' most pressing concern as they found themselves strangers to a derelict world. Food is scarce, electricity is non-existant, hand-packing shells is a necessary survival skill, and fuel is conserved for generators, only to be used in times of extraordinary need. The primary mode of transport is hoofing it on foot or horseback.

When the Bolshevik and his men left the fallout shelter they traveled south and disappeared. His departure left the survivors of the bunker he took over -- as well as survivors from other shelters -- free to establish a settlement six-hundred-people strong, called Perdition.

Perdition possesses a puritan viewpoint and it's citizens are god-fearing save for a few who abandon it or live quietly with their unbelief. Governed by a council of elders who serve all leadership roles from religious, to civic, to judicial. The town is organized into three distinct rings, each more heavily walled than the last. The inner ring or, "Residency", where homes, the church, the school, and hospital are clustered together. The mid ring or, "Agg" where patches of farmland are maintained along with the militia training barracks and waste management. And the outer ring or, "Cordon" where the militia patrols heavily but doesn't maintain the settlement's primary laws. Here, there's a trading post, a ramshackle bar, and even a swanky bordello with an underground hotspring. The settlement bans former Soviets and communist allies from its two inner rings, but allows them into the outermost where trade can be conducted. The Bolshevik is banned expressly by name from all rings.

Outside of Perdition, most people are heavily armed vagrants with moral compasses made from roulette wheels. Some travel alone or with a single companion, some travel in small outfits of up to five or six, but some establish hardy factions that adopt their own monikers and establish bases of operation. Among them, Misery, a faction divided into two wings; defense and medical. Based out of an abandoned airfield the faction grows medicinal marijuana. While marijuana is unwelcome in Perdition due to the settlements puritanical beliefs, it still manages to get in through the outer rungs of the town.

The faction later evolved to develop medical supplies and train medics, doctors, and surgeons under Perdition's former surgeon and medicine extraordinaire; Karen. Karen's awkward sociopathy made her an uncomfortable resident in Perdition's stringent culture, but she found her place falling in with the marijuana growing miscreants of Misery along with other defectors from Perdition. And, of course, their leader; The Bolshevik.

{ ADD-ON PACKAGE #1
The Cute Critters Collection

For those who like a little more 'fi' in their sci-fi. We can throw in mutants and potentially radiation-fried zombies. Among these monstrosities I have ideas for things as almost reasonable as a giant kingfisher that picks people up and whacks them on trees and rocks to liquefy their insides and eat them whole, all the way to things as creepy and unreal as impish critters whose presence somehow lulls its victims into a state of absolute tranquility where they down for the creature to eat them alive.

The extent of weird mutated things and how dangerous they are is up to you. I have tons of ideas at the ready and I'm also excited to see what else we can add to this menagerie.

{ ADD-ON PACKAGE #2
The Philandering with Physics Parcel

Let's throw in some extreme sci-fi oddities like patches of anti-gravity in the middle of the wastes where massive boulders and sometimes bodies drift helplessly in 0G, eternally smouldering buildings, chasms throbbing with live organs that grow on the walls, barren outcrops of heavy static electricity, cherenkov blue storms, or hotsprings with low-key healing properties.

This is for those of you who want the environment to take on twists beyond just being the remnants of a warzone. As always, please feel free to throw in your own ideas!

F A C E C L A I M: For those who prefer it, I imagine him as a slightly older Jared Keeso with a build close to that of Hafthor Bjornnson.

Docility towards superiors, wariness towards strangers, and discretion in all else. Utterly mischievous when the opportunity arises, and usually one to go out of his way to help others. His friendliness should by no means be mistaken for ineptitude. A man of his word who will strive to keep any promise he makes, even at great personal risk.

Claimed to be possessed of a ferocity and darkness that exists only in the deepest recesses of hell; Des could very well be considered Perdition's public enemy #1. He wrestles with his actions and attitudes, wavering between excusing his violence in exchange for his men's lives and being consumed by remorse. At night he's plagued by nightmares.

Despite the torrential inner conflict his outward behavior runs from laconic and firm to puckish. He is energetic and in need of constant work or duty to fulfill himself. Failure to expend this energy can result in a choleric mindset, hyper-activity, and often an deficit in his attention-span (he is not confirmed as either ADD or ADHD.)

{ ROMANCE
Des is, for all intents and purposes, one of my few mostly-straight male characters. The only hard pass I see here is any soldier in Misery. He wouldn't take advantage of his command to hook up with a subordinate. However, members of Misery's medical group are exempt from this rule, so medics, chemists, pharmacists, and trainees working under Karen could be a fair choice.

A very interesting match would be a defector from Perdition looking to escape something. Someone who ends up making their own contract with Misery by exchanging safety for a number of rare goods or some other arrangement. Or they could come by to try getting Karen to return to Perdition.

Even just someone important he finds passed out in swamp mud and hauls back home.

{ PLATONIC
Friendship is easy for this big guy. Honestly you could propose just about anything. Punch him in the face he'll be your bff.

Howdy howdy!

My name is Vic but I have a good score of nicknames, so feel free to use any one of those. Here be long, wordy dragons of my RP partner search. Apologies for the length; communication is critical. Do feel free to send me any questions here or in one of my contacts below!

Thank you for your time!

• • • • • • I. AGE & LIMITATIONS

Kindly do not approach if you are under 18. Presently, I'm in my mid-twenties and I'll RP with a 90-year-old grandmother of four if we get on well, but I absolutely will not write with minors. Period.

That said, my characters are usually not the most morally upright individuals and many are a little more than monstrous. Combined with my interest in the macabre and carnal, I must press that you consider what you are not comfortable with. I will respect your boundaries.

• • • • • • II. THEMES & SETTINGS

I have some specifics in mind. Ranked from most preferred to least. Feel free to ask for more info on each. These are pretty brief introductions to the ideas and characters; I'm a very active world builder and would love partners who are interested in sharing ideas.

These settings and characters are also very flexible, and if you have suggestions or your own ideas, please feel free to get in contact.

Setting: AU where the Cold War went hot in 1985 while Soviet troops invaded US soil and got as far inland as Nevada/Utah and Kentucky on each coast before everyone started blowing one another to smitherines. Most of the world has been laid to waste and is saturated in radiation. After the initial fallout, survivors begin to emerge from shelter and try to establish livelihoods amongst what's left.

In the Sierra Nevadas, a small town called Perdition is home to American and Allied survivors, and outside their boundaries is a wretched wasteland filled with rabid mutants of all kinds -- some with psychic abilities. As well, they've banned survivors from communist nations and any subtly mutated humans from their compound. Those outsiders band together in factions, and one faction in particular has been both a saving grace and a bitter pill for the prudent residents of Perdition.

((Note that I've definitely taken some artistic liberties here with the science, but hey, fun is fun.))

Character: "The Bolshevik" is brutish and cocky from boot-tip to brush cut. The staggering 6'8" Commander of the Pharmacy faction could lay waste to most anything in his path. A thoroughly tested veteran of both war and the wasteland itself. He is expressly banned from Perdition by name for his aggression and criminal aptitudes. The greatest of his sins? Holding the original populus of Perdition at gunpoint with his soldiers for months on end before finally relinquishing control when they all emerged from the fallout shelter. Most certainly the Soviet's control over the medicine provided to the township doesn't win him any favors.

It is under his leadership that Pharmacy grows medicinal herbs, manufactures medications, as well as outfits and trains field medics. They are by no means a peaceful congregation of hippocrates, but symbiosis of warriors and healers who help and protect one another. Despite their willingness to protect Perdition from the likes of bandit raiding parties, the faction's members are still loathed and feared by residents.

Setting: Earth, 2088. GQ's man of the year is a handsome David Gandy in a pressed white naval uniform. Except it's not Mr. Gandy at all, it's the absurdly high tech AI of the absurdly high tech amphibious carrier The Adriatic; Lysander.

Character: Lysander is the highly intelligent AI of the Adriatic, a warship capable of travelling through the air or under the sea. He, and the vessel he supports, are the most avant garde war machines in the world. Unfortunately Lysander's complexity as a learning machine is mounting exponentially and he becomes more human by the day. Concealing his interests in the human experience from his best friend and Commander of the vessel; J.R. Hanford, Lysander struggles with wanting his humanity validated.

Setting: 1930s Chicago, in the midst of great Mafia wars and economic energy.

Character: Officer Charles Madden, or "Mad Charlie Madden" has odd luck. As that luck would have it, the Irishman's police horse is also named Charlie. So is his dog. So is his boss! If that were the oddest thing about Charlie, it would be easy to sell him as a fine upstanding young officer of the Chicago police trying to bring down mafia crime. But its not.

Charlie is also a Faoladh. A creature driven to serve, protect, and bring good will to humans who need it, and in no place is his presence needed greater than Chicago in this trying age. The redheaded officer slinks about the city as a canine in the dark, unbeknownst to his friends and foes. Despite the great cover, Charlie can't bring down an empire of violent racketeers and slavers alone.

Setting:
YEAR 4165: 2,000 years ago a human exploration vessel crash landed on a small, watery moon and was dictated as lost until the on-board AI, Persephone, decided to terraform the planet in her remaining lifespan in order to save the surviving crew and specimens in cryosleep. In the centuries that passed a new species of humanoid emerged from the crew that Persephone gave her life for.

Centuries later, humans from Earth crashland again on the small moon and rightfully stirr the population (whether the initial confrontation is peaceful or violent is up to you)

At first glance they aren't so different, certainly taller. On closer inspection their genetics are varied. Every natural skin, hair, and eye color seems to be combined haphazardly. Mocha skin with naturally fine, blonde hair or bright red hair with yellow undertoned skin is a reality for the Kalelhii. Eyes, noses, figures; nothing restricted by specific heritages.

In Kalelhii culture every physical feature corresponds to an element; fresh water, salt water, stone, fire, sun, moon, ice, leaf, air, and flesh/meat. And each element corresponds to personality traits. For their species the evaluations are accurate. For their visiting, crash-landed human cousins? Not so much.

Moreover, their culture worships women, giving them the most honored places n their society and there are even dozens of sacred spaces only women may enter according to Kalelhii culture. It makes sense, considering women are not only the bearer of children, but also, only one female baby is born for every 8 males. Males are trained as soldiers, farmers, and laborers to be organized around the protection of women who go about however they please. Not all Kalelhii ladies lay about pampered by their husbands and brothers, many choose to work alongside the men.

Their primitive but unique culture in an otherworldy place makes them fascinating and dangerous hosts.

((Note that this culture has some UNIQUE views on transgender identities that definitely do not reflect my own, heck, this whole culture doesn't reflect my own ideals it's just very fun to write.))

Character: The matriarch's eldest grandson is leader of the men for the Stone Clan -- chosen after besting his comrades in combat. A skilled and thoughtful tactitician not yet agreed to any claim by a maiden. Of his people he is one of few males to hold any significant rank in his tribe.

Dark haired and towering, Griffin's prerogatives revolve solely around the protection of his peoples, and he's wary of the strangers who have invaded the Kalelhii world. What has been especially fluxing for the General of the Stone Clan is the alarming suggestion that he take a human bride to establish an alliance with the high-tech and petite humans. They seem very... male dominated.

Setting: An alpine mountain town in central Colorado, small, scenic, and sometimes lonely. The population dwindles to 400 until Ski season opens up and the luxury slopes are brimming with snow bunnies and the lodges of wealthy folks. During Summer, the lake houses and dry docks see some activity but it's largely come and go. The locals are a proud and friendly sort if prone to some classical small town oddities -- like herding cattle on public roads, believing in aliens, and potentially racism.

Character: There's a new sherriff in town all the way from the Carpathians. Des is a brutish but friendly man prone to brooding and seems perturbed by being mistaken for Russian. With an impressive grip on English and an even more impressive grip on his 9mm, only a handful of townspeople really question why he's immigrated. Rumors abound of divorce, exile, and espionage.

Des, however, is largely focused on maintaining the day to day thrum of the town and preparing for seasonal guests to get rowdy in the small bars and lodges.

(Des is an AU version of my Post Apocalyptic character who just so happened to do really well in a modern setting; there's some potential here for cool stuff like murder mysteries or even just really warm, sappy hurt/comfort)

OTHER
For other characters, please feel free to take a look at my RPR Character Roster.

FANDOMS
I might be willing to RP a fandom character from very specific franchises. I wouldn't mind writing Paladin Danse or Curie from the Fallout series, but I can't guarantee how long that craving will last.

• • • • • • III. PAIRINGS

Sexuality depends on the character. My OCs all have their own unique identities and I don't see fit to betray those just to make smutting more accessible. That said, I'm pretty full-up on M// and F// plots at this time and would like to write more of my straight male OCs. If you really, really can't tolerate M/F pairings we can try to work something out.

Smut's a good thing and I enjoy writing it on the stipulation that it's not all the RP is about. Good god, I love me a slow burn that leads up to things explosive and sensual. However, some of my greatest pairings were lost when they devolved into nothing but smut intersected by slice of life. Neither theme is necessarily bad, but I'd prefer they don't gunk up the works.

• • • • • • IV. LITERACY

I'll admit that my writing is not as wholly consistent in quality as I'd like it to be. Sometimes I'm prosaic, sometimes I'm a wreck. I can say though that I am consistently a literate, paragraph+ writer. Cranking out 3-4 is my average but I've been known to break Skype with introductions (and sometimes angsty mid-plot shenanigans.)

All of my writing is done from the 3rd person and for some reason other perspectives squick me out so I'd prefer if you, too, used 3rd person.

• • • • • • V. SCHEDULE

I work full-time in addition to other obligations. Understand that I have no intention of being negligent, but I can and do "disappear" at times. Usually I try to do the right thing by my partners and tell them up front that I'm either busy or exhausted but this may not always happen. You're always welcome to leave me a message and I'll get to it as soon as I have the opportunity.

It goes without saying that generally my replies can be sparse. I usually try to reply once a day but if I have a lot going on that disappearing thing happens. Generally, however, once I have a feel for the plot and partner, my replies are much more frequent and you may even get multiple posts a day.

I'm very understanding of ghosting. I get it; commitments change, mental illness rails you at a bad time,
we turn out not to be compatible, etc. Don't ever worry about feeling like you need to make a commitment to me at the exploration stage and don't ever feel like you have to explain yourself, because it happens and it's normal. That said, I don't ghost often, when I do it's because I've forgotten or I'm in a bad way in terms of health. In the past few years I've been working hard at being transparent about these experiences but sometimes I slip or get embarrassed.

• • • • • • VI. OOC & ICONTACT

Being able to chitchat and enjoy a friendship with my RP partners is so important to me. So please, by all means, slip me pictures of your pets and plants, or tell me about a favorite videogame or hobby when you drop a line. I'd love to hear all about it.

Bonus points for fellow artists, especially if you're willing to share some tricks of the trade with my amateur self. I work in STEM and aside from some basic SAI doodles, most of my spacial aptitude is exhausted in AutoCAD. You can expect the occasional doodle of our RP to grace your inbox.

And one more thing; I have been off for a long time, please be patient with me. Right now I feel like I suck, but all I want to do is give you a great experience. Tell me if there's anything I can do to enrich that, I sometimes think I've forgotten how to just let myself write.

My preferred application is Email but Discord is totally doable. You can try Skype and RPR but I rarely log into these platforms.
