WELCOME TO BARBERMONGER
WHAT IS BARBERMONGER?

BARBERMONGER is a site designed to help roleplayers find other roleplayers, specifically one-on-one roleplayers, as opposed to larger roleplay games. Functioning like a pinboard, BARBERMONGER allows users to create advertisements, bump advertisements, and respond to other advertisements, without requiring them to register an account. However, registering an account will allow you to edit your posts, find your own topics, and use the private messaging system.

i've got a secret-- more of my life has been spent drawing than writing, and these days i think of myself as a fanartist moonlighting as a roleplayer.

still, here's a little smattering of OC stuff i havent posted very widely else:

im cheating with another reheated set of images, but ive always wanted to do one of those cool process posts-- except that usually my process is usually p straightforward.

late last year though, i reread one of my favourite novels - the charioteer by mary renault - and decided to make some covers/posters. the undertaking was pretty ambitious, since it involved some visual research & painting things i'd never painted before-- namely, any kind of involved background. lol.

im pretty proud of the result, so im going to lay out the process here:

probably the most mysterious thing is how these really rich, cohesive colour schemes are usually composed of value/saturation riffs on just a few pure hues, and how the rest is really just contrast & trickery.

didnt even notice until after i finished, but did you know there isnt a spot of pure blue in the second painting. w t f?
